We love netball, and we love providing a club that everyone can feel part of – whether you’re a player, coach, parent or carer, volunteer or supporter.
It’s what’s shaped our journey over nearly fifty years, and continues to be central to our values and beliefs as a Club.
Our origins
From humble beginnings, the Tigers Netball Club has grown along with the growth of netball; while always maintaining a strong community focus which continues to drive the direction of our club.
Our club has a rich history dating back to the 1970s. We were foundation members of the Cheltenham Heights Netball Association, now known as the Kingston District Netball Association following its merger with the Moorabbin Netball Association in 1999.
In 2014, in a move to strengthen and build closer links to the communities of Black Rock, Beaumaris and Sandringham where the majority of our players are drawn from, we joined the Bayside and District Netball Association (BDNA) as a key member club.
While proud of our past, we are equally focused on growing and developing all aspects of our club so that Tigers Netball continues to play an important role in Bayside’s sporting fabric.
Our values
Our strong focus on community, learning and inclusiveness is reflected in our Club values.
Teamwork
We expect all players to make a commitment to the club and their teammates, supporting each other in the team’s endeavours. Team participation should enhance people’s natural enjoyment of sport and promote friendship.Resilience
We strive to challenge and encourage our players to deal with challenges through the development of new life skills in a supportive team environment.Integrity
We act in a fair, consistent, transparent and honest manner in all our actions. We believe in fair play, being humble in victory and gracious
in defeat.Respect
We have due regard for the feelings, wishes, or rights of others – including teammates, coaches, umpires and the opposition irrespective of our differences – to create a friendly and welcoming club culture.
