CHILD SAFETY STANDARDS

As of the July 1, the new 11 Child Safety Standards became effective.
The new standards were designed by the Commission for Children and Young People and were introduced for the following reasons.

Consistency with the 10 National Guiding Principles.

Focus on safety for First Nations children and young people.

Involve families and communities in the decision-making process at organisation level.

Manage risk of child abuse online.

Greater clarity on the governance, systems, and processes to keep children and young people safe.

As a member, what do I need to know?

Child safety is everyone’s responsibility, and therefore everyone will have a role to play. Click here to find out what you need to know via the Netball Victoria Child Safety Resource Hub.

Tigers awarded Coach the Coach grant

BCC Sponsorship - landscape colour.jpg

Tigers Netball Club was recently successful in obtaining a Coach the Coach grant of $2,000 from the Bayside City Council. The first of these workshops will be held on Sunday April 18 at the Thomas Street Courts and will be run by Inspire Netball Group.

This is a significant achievement for our club, with the workshops designed to provide our volunteer coaches with the best possible coaching development opportunities so that they can continue their coaching for many years to come. The coaching workshops that will be run over the next few months will be:

  • Space Awareness

  • Footwork and Ball Handling Skills

  • Goal Shooting and Goal Circle Movement

  • Centre Pass Attack/Defence

  • Defensive Skills

These workshops have been selected to cater for all age groups and abilities, and will require some players to take part so that the coaches can put their skills into action. We will send emails out to the appropriate teams looking for players as these workshops take place. The first workshop is designed to assist with our U11 players.

We would like to thank Bayside City Council for making this wonderful opportunity available to the Tigers Netball Club.

New Sportsmart Sponsorship for Tigers

Sposrtsmart logo.jpg

We’re very excited to announce a new club sponsor – Sportsmart Moorabbin.

Sportsmart has a history of supporting community organisations, and we’re delighted to welcome them to our Tigers team. Their sponsorship will provide tremendous value to the club and our members:

  • Sportsmart will be gifting $10 vouchers to distribute to our PLAYER OF THE MATCH each week for every team.

  • Our club is now signed up to Sportsmart’s Team Smart program, which offers great benefits to us and our members. By quoting the Tigers Team Smart number – 800660 – every purchase you make comes with two great benefits:
    1. For you – an instant discount off the normal selling price
    2. For our club – your purchase will boost our club rebate (Tigers Netball Club gets 6% back in rebates so we can put this into the purchase of equipment and can reduce our running costs)

  • In addition to your discount and our club rebate, Team Smart also gives Tigers members access to exclusive promotions, VIP nights and special offers.

We encourage you to support Sportsmart Moorabbin and thank them for their wonderful sponsorship. For more information on the Team Smart program please go to: teamsmart.sportsmart.com.au
